Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer

Job Purpose: Performs instrumentation
and electrical design duties for projects in the oil and gas industry. Works with other engineering disciplines to:
create instrumentation and electrical drawings packages for construction.

Job Duties:

Equipment Operator (Blade/ Dozer)

Position Summary:

We are currently looking to fill this position in the Midland/Odessa, TX area. The Equipment Operator will report directly to the Foreman, Spread Boss, Pusher, or Field Supervisor depending on the region and division which they are assigned.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner at all times
  • Follow all relevant policies and procedures
  • Maintain and build upon the company culture for industry leading safety programs
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections on equipment before operating
  • Keep equipment clean and free of trash
  • Ensure equipment is safely secured and stored.

Facility Project Coordinator

Position Summary:

We are currently looking to fill this position in the Midland TX area. The Facility Project Coordinator will use the tools from the Safety Leadership to develop personnel in the 3S operation. In addition, the incumbent to this position will represent themselves in a professional manner and represent himself by demonstrating value to all people, in the field, the 3S office, a customer office or location with vendors.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Project teams require coordination of activities, resources, equipment, and information. To satisfy this need the project coordinator functions in their primary role. Any coordination issues which cannot be resolved are elevated to the Implementation Manager.
  • Work closely with all 3S Supervisors to develop a dynamic state in which combined action is favored over the difference of individual actions. Simply defined, it means that the whole is greater than the sum of the individual parts.
  • Identify organizational strengths and opportunities for improvement. Work with the 3S Supervisors in a positive non-threatening manner. Use the tools available to them such as the “GO” card, JSA’S and OID, audits as well as taking an active role/leading in the same processes.

  • The coordinator would ensure that all necessary information has been gathered by the change initiator prior to presenting it to the Implementation Manager, then monitoring the review, and following up on all approved changes including the dissemination of any revised project documents.
  • When projects involve either contract or subcontract administration, the project
  • coordinator works to ensure project schedule integration with either the customer,or the subcontractor. Generally, the coordinator also tracks subcontractor
  • schedules to identify problem areas

HSE

  • Take a leadership role in safety and environmental performance by communication of 3S expectations, and the customer expectations on HSE issues, using the tools from the Safety Leadership Seminar.
  • On a yearly basis develop a person Safety Action Plan and discuss with area supervisors and send it to the 3S COO, General Manager and CEO.

I&E Maintenance Lead

Position Summary

The Moss Creek I&E Maintenance lead will develop and implement I&E maintenance and testing programs as applicable to the Moss Creek onshore oil and gas field production operations. This position will act as a mentor for I&E maintenance and operations personnel, and will provide leadership and technical assistance to the field organization in the daily management of Surge and contract I&E maintenance activities. As such, they will be responsible for the development and coordination of maintenance and testing programs for I&E equipment including level and valve controllers, PLCs, ESD systems, transformers, switches and switch gear, electrical equipment, igniters, guided radar, etc. They will also develop loop testing programs for control and ESD loops in service of the operation. The position will also initiate and coordinate the skills training necessary to ensure safe maintenance work practice and in support of Surge safety and environmental values.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Moss Creek field mechanical I&E program.
  • Develop and implement control and ESD loop testing programs.
  • Serve as a technical resource for all I&E maintenance issues pertinent Moss Creek and other Surge operations.
  • Initiate, track and participate in all I&E maintenance related root cause failure analysis and communicate findings.
  • Provide design and selection input to engineering and operations for I&E equipment upgrades and purchases.
  • Provide regular updates to the Moss Creek operations team regarding I&E maintenance program cost and performance.
  • Provide status updates on failure analyses, RCAs and related corrective actions.
  • Advise on operating practices that will improve equipment performance and longevity and related cost improvements.
  • Develop annual budgets for interval-based I&E maintenance and testing programs.
  • Mentor Surge and Contract programmers, electricians, and instrumentation personnel to achieve craft and skill development, and facilitate and participate in all field craft training.

Basic / Required Qualifications

  • 8 years of onshore oil and gas I&E maintenance, testing, and programming experience.
  • Qualified to work in the US.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Broad technical competency in I&E equipment maintenance, testing and programming (Electrical wiring and equipemnt, SCADA equipment, Process and Equipment Controls, TCOM, PLCs and PLC programming, instrument gas controllers, EFM / meter calibration)
  • Knowledgeable in key industry I&E-related codes and compliance (i.e. NEC, API RP 14C, API RP 500)
  • I&E maintenance safety practices and environmental regulations.
  • Experience in material management practices including material transfer and equipment / sparing practices.
  • Experience in root cause analysis, failure investigation and development of corrective action plans.
  • Proficient in mechanical maintenance standards, and procedures for relevant equipment (see above).
  • Computer software skills in MS Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12 years of onshore oil and gas mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Experience with control loop test strategy, maintenance strategies, C&E diagrams for process control, instrumentation, logic and programming.
  • Experience with computer based managed maintenance programs such as Indigo, SAP.

I&E Technician

Position Summary:

We are looking to fill this position in the Denver City, TX, Hobbs,NM, Seminole and Odessa,TX Areas. The I&E technician will implement maintenance, equipment installations, testing and calibrations. This position also includes level and valve controllers, PLCs, EFM software programing, ESD systems, transformers, switches and switch gear, electrical equipment, igniters, guided radar, etc. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Follow all appropriate and required standards, procedures, and policies.

  • Must be able to work under limited to no supervision.

  • Knowledge of P&ID’s

  • Work with Engineering design and install new electrical and instrumentation equipment to upgrade, replace, and improve existing systems.

  • Able to utilize technical skills to troubleshoot production instrumentation, electronics and electrical components.

  • Provide field instrumentation support for all process equipment (pneumatic, hydraulic, electro-mechanical, electronic, LAN and SCADA systems)

  • Able to do electrical equipment installations, calibrations, inspections, and troubleshooting tasks to minimize production impacts and enhance the reliability of the operation.

  • Install wiring and conduit as needed

  • Assist in maintaining instrumentation, calibrations, and testing

  • Participate in PSSR’s as applicable.

  • Participate in Process Hazard Reviews as applicable

  • Participation in incident investigation and corrective action development as a part of a continuous program improvement.

  • Support other operations personnel.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

The QA/QC Construction Inspector will be handling the overall quality of the 3S product. Activities include: visual weld examination, weld mapping, material inspection, material inventory, coating inspection, torque inspection, witness and sign off on job hold points and compiling job books.

Sr. I/E Designer

Job Purpose: Performs instrumentation
and electrical design duties for projects in the oil and gas industry. Works with other engineering disciplines to:
create instrumentation and electrical drawings packages for construction.

Job Duties:

·
Maintain the integrity of 3S Services HSE
policies.

·
Read and understand process and instrumentation
diagrams (P&IDs).

·
Work with AutoCad design software, Microsoft
Excel, and Microsoft Word.

·
Work with vendors to review the installation
requirements for the different pieces of electrical equipment.

·
Be able to do electrical system walk downs and
create as-built drawings.

·
Create electrical construction drawings such as:
one-line diagrams, motor circuit diagrams, grounding plans, conduit plans,
interconnection diagrams, and area classification plans.

·
Be able to create conduit and cable schedules
which require the knowledge of the NEC Code in regards cable sizing and conduit
fill.

·
Design PLC panel layouts, wiring, and bill of
materials.

·
Enhances 3S Services reputation by accepting
ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring
opportunities to add value to the job accomplishments.

Skills/Qualifications:

·
At least 8 years of design experience.

·
Familiarity with industry codes and standards.

·
Experience in the oil and gas industry is a plus.
